ID. Models crack half a million mark – entry-level model under 25,000 euros announced

A year ahead of schedule, the company has reached another milestone in the implementation of its ACCELERATE strategy to become a zero-emission, software-based mobility service provider: since handing over to the first ID.3 customer in October 2020, Volkswagen has delivered 500,000 cars of the ID. family worldwide – despite the continuing tight supply situation.

Entry-level model for under 25,000 euros in sight

From 2033, Volkswagen wants to produce only e-cars in Europe. As early as 2030, at least 70 percent of Volkswagen sales in Europe are to be pure electric cars. In the USA and China, the company is targeting an E share of more than 50 percent in the same period. “Norway is a pioneer in the field of e-mobility. Here, the ID.4 took first place in the registration statistics in October. This example shows: The product portfolio of the ID. family fits the needs of our customers,” says Imelda Labbé, Member of the Board of Management for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales at Volkswagen. To this end, Volkswagen is launching ten new e-models by 2026. “Volkswagen will thus offer the broadest e-model portfolio of any manufacturer: from the entry-level e-car with a target price of less than 25,000 euros to the new flagship Aero B, we will have the right offering in every segment,” Labbé continues. www.volkswagen.com
