A weekend full of adventures, discovery of the territory and sustainable travel the one spent in the Dolomites on early September.
This year ECO Dolomites, an event that promotes sustainable mobility in the Dolomites – now at its 10th edition – has staked everything on the discovery of the territory with the “POI Hunt – Point of Interest”, signed by evway.
Unlike the previous editions organized as a guided tour, this year the participants had the chance to carry out a “free tour”, living and choosing their own travel experience.
Thus, 18 Points of Interest have been identified – churches, castles, lakes, characteristic villages … – and two tours have been suggested: one including all 18 Points of Interest, and a shorter one, that included 8 of them.
The EV-Drivers who took part to the event had to register on the evway App, search on the Travel Network’s map for the POIs – marked with a logo specially designed for the event -, reach the location and scan the QR code on site. Each Point of Interest corresponded to a reward in ladybugs of a variable value, depending on the difficulty of reaching the POI itself: the more Points of Interest the user visited, the more ladybugs he gained.
The participants – many of them European tourists – were the real protagonists of the event: they set up their own tour and decided whether to see the castle rather than the lake or – why not? – both attractions. Even the children had fun going to find the QR codes in the various locations.
It is a real discovery of the territory, its scenic, artistic and cultural beauties: famous places such as the Alpe di Siusi and Carezza Lake, or less known (but still amazing) places with breathtaking views, such as the Max Vailer Observatory or the Prösels Castle.
The “POI Hunt” showed an original way of involving Eco Dolomites participants: driving electric along the Dolomites passes, discovering new Points of Interest and their history, obtaining rewards, getting to know other EV-Drivers with their own stories and electrical experiences … Everything has transformed ECO Dolomites into a real sustainable travel experience.
