DB Schenker supports e-racer on world tour: Demo tour for the electric racing car prototype GT4 e-Performance

DB Schenker and Porsche Motorsport are taking an important step towards climate neutrality with the worldwide demo tour for the electrically powered GT4 e-Performance racing car prototype. For the world tour of the e-racer to hand-picked stops, in keeping with the series, DB Schenker is organising the entire sustainable logistics and using only the most environmentally friendly means of transport possible for a total of 13,000 kilometres. The GT4 e-Performance Tour kicks off at the end of January with the legendary GP Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria. From there, the tour will travel in a sustainable manner by ship, train and truck to further events in Europe, the USA and Asia.

Prototype for all-electric customer motorsport
With the GT4 e-Performance, Porsche is presenting motorsport with a possible path to the customer sport of the future with fully electric racing vehicles. It relies on the technology components of the Mission R concept study, which Porsche presented as a vision in 2021 and has now realised. The body consists of natural fibre-based composites, among other things. On tour, the unsaleable prototype is intended to fascinate fans and potential customer teams around the world. At the same time, the electric racing car is collecting valuable data and insights for a possible future not only in motorsport. The world tour begins with the prestigious GP Ice Race in Zell am See from 27 to 29 January 2023. From there, the tour continues to the USA, where the innovative electric concept car will appear at the famous Grand Prix in Long Beach in April, among other events. In the second half of the year, events in the Asia-Pacific region are on the agenda. www.dbschenker.com
