The major cell manufacturers like LG Chem and CATL are adding more and more Silicon to their anodes in order to increase the energy density of their Li-ion batteries. In this talk we discuss the known advantages of Silicon like increase of energy density and faster recharging but also the influence on heat generation and aging in future EV batteries.
