Tennis star Rafael Nadal has reaffirmed his commitment to sustainable electric mobility by taking delivery of his personal Kia EV9 at the IFEMA exhibition center in Madrid. The brand’s first three-row electric SUV, also one of the first ever seven-seat electric cars, sets new standards with its sustainable concept, exceptional variability, cutting-edge technologies and luxurious comfort, pushing the boundaries of its segment towards forward-looking family-friendly mobility. As a result, the new Kia flagship has the best prerequisites to become an icon – which Rafael Nadal has long been in tennis. The 22-time Grand Slam winner and long-time Kia brand ambassador will add the EV9 GT-line, painted in Ocean Blue Matt, to his personal fleet, which already includes the Kia EV6 (Europe’s “Car of the Year 2022”).
“To reach all these milestones in my career so far, I had to keep developing. This is the only way to progress,” Nadal said. “I’m lucky to have a partner with the same mindset in Kia, and the EV9 is the latest step in the brand’s evolution into a global leader in electric vehicles. At the handover event, dubbed #TheIcon, Kia presented a tennis court as an interactive 360-degree experience that leaves conventional boundaries behind, much like the EV9: The court’s lines are variable and can take on unconventional shapes depending on the game mode.
