As part of the eMove360°Europe 2021 International Trade Fair for Mobility 4.0 electric – connected-autonomous (November 16-18), the finalists of the world’s most important award for new mobility were announced on the evening October 16. The expert jury of the eMove360° Award for electromobility & autonomous driving had nominated the most innovative and promising submissions for mobility. Winner of the category Mobility Connectivity & Engineering is Lapp Mobility GmbH with the MOBILITY DOCK.
The MOBILITY DOCK is a small, handy charger for electric cars that, in combination with any type 2 charging cable, enables charging at a standard household socket. The MOBILITY DOCK replaces the much bigger and bulkier Mode 2 charging cable. It weighs much less, takes considerably less space in the trunk and is significantly cheaper. The MOBILITY DOCK completely fulfils the function of a mobile charging station. The communication between MOBILITY DOCK and the vehicle takes place via a control device integrated into the charger, which automatically sets the charging current up to a maximum of 10A and also monitors the charging process. This achieves a charging power up to a maximum of 2.3 kW.
