eMove360° Hotel tip of the week: Scandic Munich Macherei

The Macherei area in Berg am Laim creates creative space for people and companies, combining work and relaxation with art and culture. As a perfect complement to this, the fifth Scandic hotel in Germany inspires with 234 rooms on nine floors, some with a view of the Alps, a spacious entrance area with smartly designed areas and a living room atmosphere. Here, book shelves, game tables and two meeting studios are available for small meetings. The heart of the hotel is the F&B area. The Zieglerei restaurant with show kitchen, bar and terrace sees itself as a meeting place between hotel guests and the neighborhood. In keeping with the group’s brand promise, the focus is on cordial service, a good night’s sleep, well-being at all levels and sustainability. Overnight rates start at 138 euros for two people in a double room, including a varied, freshly prepared breakfast.

Inspired by former brick kilns in Berg am Laim, the Scandic München Macherei presents itself with an appealing clinker facade. The transition from reception to bar, living room and restaurant is smooth. Throughout the hotel, earthy colors and rusty red and beige tones dominate the interior design by Stockholm-based architecture firm Koncept. All rooms, ranging in size from 17 to 30 square meters, feature real wood floors and a Scandinavian minimalist style. Selected art can be found in all rooms, as well as useful items such as irons and ironing boards. Ten rooms with kitchenettes are available for long-term stays. There are four charging stations for electric cars. Find Book here.
