eMove360° tip for battery charging: Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden

Fancy recharging your batteries 1000 meters above everyday life? Nestled in the mountain scenery of the Watzmann, Untersberg and Kehlstein in the Bavarian Alps, the Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden lies in the pink-tinted evening sky, with the first lights glowing in the valley below. Tranquillity spreads across the 1000-metre-high Obersalzberg. The focus is on the beauty of nature and on what really matters: Leisure time to recharge your batteries and clear your head. The wood crackles in the fireplace in the lounge. The oversized lampshade and the chandelier with deer antlers in the center of the lounge are real eye-catchers. The hot chocolate tastes like more, as does the Eckerbichl cake with fir honey, wild cranberries and mountain gentian made by Michael Stahl, the master patissier. There’s still time for one more piece, after all, we’ve already burned calories hiking with Julia today. Together with Natalia, she forms the “activity concierge team”. They are very familiar with the surrounding area and are on hand with helpful tips when it comes to excursions or outdoor activities. In winter, exciting ski boot hikes, ski days or the weekly torch-lit hike beckon. Summer is ideal for cycling and (e-)mountain bike tours, hiking in the mountains, mountaineering or simply exploring the hotel surroundings on a leisurely stroll. On request, they are also happy to accompany you exclusively on an adventurous mountain tour. They also have numerous tips for excursions, whether to museums, the idyllic Königsee lake or the baroque city of Salzburg. But who would want to escape this refuge of tranquillity, which so excellently combines clear design with alpine flair? Better to relax a little more – with a gentle massage using warmed herbal pouches that are gently pressed onto the body. What we particularly like: Chef and mountain expert Ulrich Heimann deserves our respect as a multiple conqueror of the Watzmann east face – in addition to the refined compositions he conjures up on the plates of his Michelin-starred restaurant PUR.
