The Fastned locations in Limburg Süd, Herbolzheim, Freiwalde, Wittenburg, Melle-West, Hildesheim, Paderborn-Mönkeloh, and Gladbeck-Ellinghorst have undergone significant upgrades: Whereas charging points with a charging capacity of 50 or 175 kW previously stood here, e-car drivers can now rely on a charging capacity of up to 300 kW at a total of 38 charging points with immediate effect. All existing chargers have been replaced by Hyperchargers from the Italian supplier Alpitronic, and the necessary infrastructure has been upgraded. Among other things, several kilometers of new cable were laid. Fast charging is available from a charging power of 50 kW. From a charging power of 150 kW, the term high-power charging is used instead, so that the charging power now available exceeds the term fast charging by definition. In just 15 minutes, depending on the vehicle type, a range of up to 300 km can be charged. In September 2022, the in-house team of Fastned technicians will bring eight more Fastned stations up to the latest and fastest standards in the next round of upgrades.
