In order to simplify electrical charging in town, IES Synergy strengthens its range of fast charging station

Strongly committed to the energetic transition, the designer and manufacturer of fast charging stations and industrial on-board chargers, IES Synergy aims to become a leader in small and medium power fast charging station in the heart of cities. Today, the French company is launching its new Keywatt 50 charging station, ideal for city centers and commercial spaces. This solution is deployed with brand new smart charging software compatible with all the products in its range.

A FAST CHARGING STATION IN ORDER TO RESPOND TO A SOCIETAL NEED

The future of cities must go through green mobility. We are facing one of the great challenges of our modern societies: finding a way to develop efficient mobility solutions that respect the environment. To support cities in this new challenge, IES Synergy has deployed more than 9,500 fast charging stations thanks to strong partnerships developed with major charging infrastructure operators in Europe and even North America. Anxious to support cities in their commitment, the French company has studied the needs and behavior of each: individuals, companies, communities. It has been noted that 38% of motorists who do not have private parking charge their electric vehicle at work or in a public place without exceeding 1 hour, which generally corresponds to the time spent in town centers and commercial spaces.

AN UNIVERSAL SOLUTION

Thus, the new Keywatt 50 station has been designed to meet this need for recharging. It offers a universal solution, capable of recharging several vehicles at the same time, whatever their brand, from 30 minutes to 1 hour (on average). With a power output of 50 kW (DC), the new Keywatt 50 has been developed on the basis of the 50 kW power module designed by IES Synergy and deployed by thousands around the world. Delivered and used by load operators and integrators since 2013, this technology has demonstrated its robustness and reliability. Thanks to its patented technology, costs and maintenance requirements are greatly reduced as well as its extended service life.

Its low acquisition cost and easy installation in an urban environment make this highly competitive solution the ideal charging station for shopping centersrestaurantssports centerspublic car parkscar dealershipsfleets, recharging infrastructure and operators. Anxious to respond to all drivers of electric vehicles, it has been designed to adapt perfectly to all environments and to customer needs: personalization of the front of the terminal and of the touch screen, several charging socket configurations , multilingual and upgradeable software allowing, for example, to couple it with photovoltaic installations.

“With a 10% market share in 2020, we are counting on the launch of our new Keywatt 50 station and the new version of our intelligent software to significantly increase our positions”, explains Jean-Michel Cornille, President of IES Synergy. “This new charging station completes a range of 24 kW fast chargers, known and widely deployed. It has been highly acclaimed by our partners who want to be able to offer a turnkey offer with a single supplier of fast charging stations and the integration of a single software platform “,  he concludes.

DEPLOYMENT OF A NEW SOFTWARE ADAPTED TO SMART CHARGING

Capable of communicating with all vehicles on the market, IES Synergy now offers the latest version of its software incorporating new features such as remote reservationvehicle detection, 15 new languages and Smart Charging. This feature allows holders of charging stations to save energy by customizing their charging parameters, such as:

  • – The power delivered during the day, depending on the subscription prices or the production of solar panels,
  • – Load distribution according to the number of vehicles connected to charging stations,
  • – The charging of several vehicles, simultaneously, in real time.

A remote update made it possible to install this latest version of the software on all products already on the market and to come (terminals for buses included). Currently, the evolution of electric mobility is no longer based solely on vehicles but also on the connectivity and intelligence of charging stations. These must now be able to communicate with all types of vehicles, as well as the operators’ server, while allowing remote supervision. As a result, the performance of the software becomes as important as the electronics of the charging station.

IES Synergy develops 100% of its solutions in France (software, electronics and mechanics) which enables it to intervene quickly according to customer needs. Whether it is a question of maintenance or an evolution of technologies. On a daily basis, operation and maintenance actions are carried out by two modems for an optimized update without loss of service:

  • – On the one hand, the customer can manage access, recharge monitoring, power management and load history from his server.
  • – On the other hand, IES Synergy manages from its modem maintenance missions such as configuration and commissioning, monitoring of remote alarms, supervision and updates of on-board software.

GREAT PERSPECTIVES FOR 2021

After the announcement of recovery plans in many European countries, IES Synergy decided to reorganize its production facilities in order to produce as close as possible to its customers“This new organization will allow us to reduce our supply times while reducing our carbon impact” specifies Jean-Michel Cornille. At the same time, 15 to 20% of turnover is reinvested in its R&D department to support the lifting of one of the last obstacles to electric mobility: the deployment of a network of charging stations that meet the needs of drivers of electric vehicles.

“To do this, we can count on strong partnerships in countries that drive electromobility, the support of our shareholders and our ability to innovate. Listening to our customers, we are developing our product range by developing, in particular, the Smart component of chargers in order to meet everyone’s recharging needs and, thus, participate in the decarbonization of cities more than necessary today ”.

In the coming months, IES Synergy also intends to continue the integration of new functionalities allowing an optimization of the installation of the terminals and a simpler configuration by the operators as well as the management of the payment directly from the terminal integrated in the charging station.
