NIO ET5: Official launch in Germany

The all-electric mid-size sedan NIO ET5 is the third NIO model to be launched in Germany, alongside the NIO ET7 and NIO EL7. The official launch took place at the NIO Experience Days in Düseldorf at the end of April. After the first vehicles were handed over to customers at the end of March – shortly after the opening of the NIO House Frankfurt – the official launch took place one month later at the NIO Exerience Days. The first buyers still benefit from an exclusive price advantage of 1,800 euros, which includes free equipment with the optional NOMI Mate voice assistance system and an electrically extendable trailer coupling. The NIO ET5’s basic vehicle warranty is 3 years, and an optional warranty extension to 5 years will be offered promptly from the factory as an option. The mid-size sedan is priced from EUR 47,500 (net EUR 39,915) as standard and thus benefits from the environmental bonus of EUR 4,500 plus the manufacturer’s contribution of EUR 2,250. The NIO ET5 can either be purchased outright or subscribed to on a monthly basis via NIO Subscription.

Free power swaps until the end of 2023
NIO users also have the option of renting or buying the battery in the “Battery-as-a-Service” (BaaS) model. The 75-kWh battery will be available for 169 euros per month (100-kWh battery for 289 euros) and offers users great flexibility as well as access to the Power Swap Station (PSS), a technology and energy solution that enables fully automatic battery swaps in around five minutes. Those who prefer to buy the battery will pay 12,000 euros for the 75-kWh battery and 21,000 euros for the 100-kWh battery. However, a battery purchase excludes the use of the NIO PSS network. With the PSS in Zusmarshausen (near Augsburg) and the PSS in Hilden (near Düsseldorf), two stations are already available at strategic highway junctions. The PSS in Berlin is already in test operation and is about to open. Seven further Power Swap Stations (PSS) have been confirmed. These include sites in Leipzig and Regensburg and locations on the A61 (Waldlaubersheim) and A7 (Großburgwedel) highways. Battery swaps at the Power Swap stations will be offered completely free of charge until the end of 2023. Test drives can be booked on the website, APP or in the NIO Houses. www.nio.com
