To coincide with the release of Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania”, which opens in German cinemas on 15 February, Volkswagen is presenting a global 360-degree campaign spotlighting the ID.4. The starting point for the collaboration is the placement of the all-electric vehicle in the upcoming film as the superhero’s family car.
In the run-up to the cinema release of “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania”, Volkswagen and Marvel Studios are presenting a jointly developed commercial as the start of a global advertising campaign. The spot, developed and produced by Volkswagen as well as the Walt Disney Studios Partnerships team and production company Bullitt, was directed by Anthony Leonardi III, a longtime Marvel Studios employee. Framestore’s award-winning visual effects team created the digital growth and shrinkage effects in the film. The commercial will be shown across social media, on television and in cinemas: https://youtu.be/5XmuqzfpPU4
“This fun, innovative and integrated campaign brings a relatable story to life in an extraordinary way. We are thrilled to present it to our global fans as we launch the next phase of the Marvel cinematic universe,” said Lylle Breier, SVP Global Marketing Partnerships at Walt Disney Studios.
In addition, a making-of will give viewers a glimpse of the making of the film, which will feature Volkswagen’s ID.4 E-SUV. In addition, the vehicle will be presented on the red carpet at the world premiere in Los Angeles.
“Emotional storytelling through collaborations are increasingly of enormous importance for brands,” explains Salim Yüksel, who is responsible for future trends, strategic partnerships and global branded entertainment at Volkswagen and is leading the project together with Volkswagen of America. “We are very proud to have brought our global brands together for this creative project.” www.volkswagen-newsroom.com
