Winners of the first sMove360° Award for Connected and Autonomes Driving announced

Munich, October 2016 – In a festive award ceremony the winners of the first edition of the sMove360° Award for Connected & Autonous Driving were announced last night at the eMove360° Europe 2016 – International Trade Fair for Mobility 4.0. Eight companies from five countries were nominated as finalists in the four categories Autonomous & Automated Vehicles, Software & Apps, ICT Infrastructure & Security and Automated Driving Tools & Systems of the international award.

„The future of the mobility is connected and automated and eventually autonomous. We reflect this development with our newly launched sMove360° Award for Connected and Autonomous Driving. We are proud that we have seen such a huge share of international submissions in the first edition – and, of course, some very exciting applications that can drive Mobility 4.0 forward.” Patron of the award, German Federal Minster of Transport Alexander Dobrindt, added: “The sMove360° Award for automated and connected driving makes an important contribution to this process. It strengthens the digital self-confidence of our country by awarding prizes to outstanding achievements and, by recognizing best practice, provides encouragement to seize the opportunities that the digitalization of mobility offers.”

The Winners at a glance:

Autonomous & Automated Vehicles

NAVYA – ARMA
Launched in October 2015, the NAVYA ARMA is a 100 % electric and autonomous transport vehicle. This innovating and intelligent driverless shuttle can transport up to 15 passengers and safely drive up to 45 km/h, mostly on private sites. Entrusted to the best French specialists, its design is the fruit of ten years of research and expertise which allows it to achieve the highest level of autonomy possible: Level 5, making the NAVYA ARMA the first entirely autonomous series vehicle. The NAVYA ARMA calls upon state of the art technologies, developed to ensure safety, comfort and performance.
Software & Apps

Bosch Software Innovations – Charging Apps
Charging apps by Bosch Software Innovations allow drivers of electric vehicles to conveniently charge their cars using the public charging infrastructure. The apps help you locate and use just about any web-enabled public charging point. It’s electromobility made easy, whenever and wherever you want.

ICT Infrastructure & Security

GreenFlux – Smart Charging Controller
Central control unit that makes every EV charge point a connected station and allows smart charging solutions.
Automated Driving Tools & Systems

NVIDIA – DRIVE PX2
DRIVE PX 2 is the world’s first in-car artificial intelligence supercomputer. It supports multiple precision processing modes to tune & optimize the functions a self-driving computer needs to perform. The car needs to know exactly where it is, recognize the objects around it, and continuously calculate the optimal path for a safe driving experience. This situational and contextual awareness of the car and its surroundings demands a powerful visual computing system that can merge data from cameras and other sensors, plus navigation sources, while also figuring out the safest path – all in real-time. This autonomous driving platform is NVIDIA DRIVE PX 2.
