Women’s World Car of the Year 2024: Kia EV9 makes women’s hearts beat faster

At the Women’s World Car of the Year 2024 award, the seven-seater Kia EV9 was named winner in the SUV category. This year, the all-female “WWCOTY” jury, consisting of 75 motoring journalists from 52 countries on five continents, subjected a total of 62 new models to a comprehensive evaluation process with driving tests, detailed analyzes and in-depth studies to determine the winners in the five categories. The Kia electric car is now moving into the final round of the award with the winners of the other four classes (Family Car, Large Car, Exclusive Car, 4×4 & Pick-Up). The overall winner will be announced on March 8, International Women’s Day.

When it won its category, the EV9 scored particularly well thanks to its high aerodynamics, innovative design features, groundbreaking technologies, the ability to charge bi-directionally and the ultra-fast 800-volt charging system. The jury also highlighted the attractive price-performance ratio, which positions the Kia SUV very competitively in its segment. This award further demonstrates that Kia is developing vehicles that meet a wide range of perspectives and preferences, and underscores the strong response the EV9 has received from women worldwide. Like the Kia EV6 electric crossover, the 5.01 meter long model is based on the dedicated E-GMP electric vehicle platform and offers an exceptionally spacious and variable interior with lounge-like comfort. When it comes to drive, there is a choice of rear-wheel drive (150 kW/204 hp) and all-wheel drive (283 kW/385 hp, 0 to 100 km/h from 5.3 seconds).
