TUM – Technische Universität München – Institute of Automotive Technology

The main research at the Institute of Automotive Technology under the supervision of Prof. Markus Lienkamp is about the demands in mobility. Particular focus is on electromobility as well as its components and infrastructure. To support that there are five research groups with different areas of studies: Vehicle Dynamics, Driver Assistance and Control Systems, Vehicle Concepts, Electric Vehicle Components and Smart Mobility.

The Institute is located at Garching Research Centre and has additional office spaces in Garching Hochbrück. About 70 employees are working at the institute, including about 50 scientists. To support those and the students, there is a mechanical and an electric workshop, as well as a diversified administrative staff. The perfect infrastructure for the implementation of projects and construction of prototypes is given by two testing halls with versatile equipment and test rigs.
