Ford continues on electrification course: Presentation of the E-Tourneo Courier

With the presentation of the newly developed, all-electric E-Tourneo Courier, Ford is underscoring its consistent realignment toward electromobility. The market launch of the just under 4.40-meter-long, five-seater multi-function vehicle from the compact car segment is scheduled for the end of 2024. It is one of a total of ten all-electric models that Ford will offer in Europe by 2024. By 2035, the company aims to reduce the emissions of its newly registered vehicles in Europe to zero. Currently, Ford is investing more than $50 billion to have over two million electric vehicles on the market worldwide by the end of 2026. The E-Tourneo Courier has an electric powertrain and a wide range of digital equipment details and connected features. Automatic over-the-air (OTA) updates ensure the vehicle stays up to date with the latest software, increasing its value throughout its lifecycle.

The traction battery can store new energy at an AC connection of up to 11 kW or at a fast-charging station with up to 100 kW DC. Ford’s holistic charging solutions, which can be controlled via smartphone app, ensure convenient and efficient charging management. This includes a programming function for automatic power refueling at those times of the day and night when electricity rates are particularly favorable. It takes about 5.7 hours to refill the battery with alternating current from ten to 100 percent. Ford software and the Ford BlueOval Charge network, one of the largest in Europe with around 500,000 fast-charging stations by 2024, make it easier to charge on the go – where power storage units can recharge energy for an additional 87 kilometers of range within ten minutes. In less than 35 minutes, the power supply grows from ten to 80 percent of the battery capacity. www.ford.de
