Halved charging time, 450 kilometers range, more safety: Revised e-trucks for emission-free urban transport from Volvo Trucks

The redesigned Volvo FL and Volvo FE medium-duty electric trucks from Volvo Trucks are ideal for the vast majority of tasks in busy urban areas, such as distribution transport, waste collection and urban construction. The electric versions have been on the market since 2019 and are sold in numerous markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. The AC charging capacity of the battery electric medium-duty trucks has been almost doubled to 43 kW, which can reduce the charging time of the batteries by around 50 percent. In addition, the recently revised battery packs enable a total range of up to 450 km on a single charge.

Safety is the be-all and end-all for the Volvo FL and Volvo FE. As a rule, they are used in urban areas where they have to share the limited space with other road users traveling by car, motorcycle, bicycle or on foot. A number of new functions increase safety for both the driver and other road users and exceed the requirements of the General Safety Regulations (GSR), which come into force in 2024.

The new medium-duty models with a gross weight of up to 27 tons stand out with their new, appealing design, with a revised front section, striking LED headlights and the distinctive Iron Mark and Volvo lettering on the front. The new Volvo FL and Volvo FE models can be ordered now, with deliveries to customers starting in the first half of 2024.
