Volkswagen is expanding its ID.7 range in Europe with the ID.7 Tourer. It is one of the first all-electric estates in the upper mid-size class with WLTP ranges of up to 685 km. Pre-sales across Europe are due to start in the first quarter of this year. Stylistically, the Tourer is a fusion of a classic estate in the format of the Passat and a dynamic Shooting Brake in the style of the Arteon. The extra height in the rear results in a further increase in trunk space compared to the hatchback: with five people on board, the ID.7 Tourer can hold up to 605 liters of luggage (rear seat backrest in the cargo position). Loaded up to the backrests of the front seats and roof high, this figure rises to up to 1,714 liters.
Up to 685 km WLTP range. Volkswagen will offer two different battery sizes for the ID.7 Tourer. Depending on the energy content of the battery, the electric touring car will have a WLTP range of up to 685 km. The maximum charging capacity of the largest battery will be up to 200 kW at DC fast-charging stations. With this power, the battery should be charged from 10 to 80 percent in well under 30 minutes.
AR head-up display as standard. The new ID.7 Tourer is coming onto the market with innovative technology features. These include the augmented reality head-up display as standard. It projects information relevant to driving into the driver’s field of vision so that they do not have to take their eyes off the road. At the same time, the AR head-up display changes the cockpit architecture, as the classic instruments have become smaller.
Wellness in-car app. In addition to various technology features, the Wellness In-Car App is new on board. It can be used to adjust various vehicle functions via three preconfigured programs (“Fresh up”, “Calm Down” and “Power Break”), which can help to increase well-being while driving or during breaks. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the app uses the ambient lighting, sound, climate control, “Smart Glass” switching, seat climate control and seat massage as well as ID.LIGHT and the infotainment screen.
