Interreg project MOFU – Mobility for Future: Cross-border e-bike tours

What does the mobility of the future look like? What is a kilowatt hour? And where is the change in flora and fauna as a result of climate change particularly visible? On the free, guided e-bike tour from Bad Reichenhall to Zell am See, those interested can learn a lot about switching to resource-saving means of transport, the effects of the melting glacier or the constantly changing water levels in the Saalach. The participants not only follow the mountain river for 75 kilometers, but also get to know two very different regions from the saddle perspective: From the starting point in the Upper Bavarian spa town, the route runs through the Berchtesgadener Land over the German-Austrian border and along the wild, rushing water to to the 3,000m peaks on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Sporty people can conquer a good 300 meters in altitude in around five hours. From your destination you will be brought back to the starting point comfortably and free of charge by e-bus. The first Velocity Tour starts on April 14 at 10 a.m. from Bad Reichenhall’s town hall square (returns around 5 p.m.), further dates and bike rental partners at www.bad-reichenhall.de, mofu-interreg.org/velo-city-tour

MOFU. The Interreg project “Mobility for Future” moves Bad Reichenhall/Upper Bavaria and Zell am See/Salzburger Land equally. With the cross-border tourist e-bike offer from Germany to Austria, it can also be experienced by holidaymakers. In line with the sustainability approach of the “Alpine Pearl” in Berchtesgadener Land, the free, guided “Velocity Tour 2022” not only brings e-bikers closer to the two neighboring regions, but also to topics such as the future of the climate or the choice of our mobility in everyday life and leisure time. Future solutions are to be developed and discussed as part of a joint sporting activity. A total of five dates are available from Bad Reichenhall from April 14 to June 23 (only in good weather). The maximum number of participants is ten people, the minimum age is 16 years. www.mofu-interreg.org
