In his new role, Martin Eschler will be responsible for the operational testing business of batteries from areas such as automotive, industrial components, aviation and shipping and medical technology and will continue to have a strong focus on the topics of safety, trust and sustainability in the future. “As the first and most experienced special test laboratory for batteries, TÜV SÜD has an enormous knowledge and technology lead. We will continue to expand our leading position – also with extensive investments – and thus enable our customers to gain competitive advantages in a rapidly growing future market. Together with our customers, we create the prerequisites for security and trust in battery technology, which is an indispensable component of environmentally friendly and sustainable development, ”says Eschler about his future tasks and plans.
For the past three years, Martin Eschler was at TÜV SÜD as Vice President Key Account Management & Sales Excellence Europe in the Global Sales & Marketing department and was responsible for setting up sales structures, strategic account management and cross-departmental, industry-specific sales approaches.
Before joining TÜV SÜD, Eschler worked for Siemens AG in various areas in Germany and abroad for ten years. After completing his degree in business administration with a technical minor in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, he was responsible for the areas of renewable energy, low voltage products and the corporate account management program in various roles. The passionate outdoor athlete is also active as a guest lecturer at the Technical University of Munich.
Martin Eschler’s predecessor Christian Theeck (36) will in future be driving the TÜV SÜD Product Service Division’s higher-level business development in the area of New Energy Products and will also use his expertise to advise the global teams in the area of battery testing.
