New position at Kia Europe: Pierre-Martin Bos becomes director of special vehicles (PBV)

Kia Europe has appointed Pierre-Martin Bos as Head of Purpose-built Vehicles (PBV). The French manager holds the newly created position of Director PBV at Kia’s European headquarters, effective immediately, and will be based in Frankfurt. As a senior executive there, Bos will take charge of the dedicated team that has been laying the foundation for this business segment in Europe since 2021.

In further developing Kia’s B2B business, the new manager’s main task will be to prepare the European market for the availability of specialty vehicles. This highly innovative segment involves mass-produced vehicles that can be optimized for a specific purpose. Kia plans to launch a mid-size PBV model produced at a dedicated PBV plant in Hwaseong, Korea, in 2025. Fully connected, battery-powered PBVs offer a promising outlook, especially in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) and passenger transport sectors. In Europe, Kia is entering the LCV market as a newcomer. Pierre-Martin Bos will help prepare market readiness in the coming years and build a sustainable network for a novel ecosystem.

Bos studied mechanical engineering at ISAT and graduated from IFP in Paris in 1998 with a master’s degree in engine development. In his subsequent management career, he worked for Fiat, Fiat Chrysler and Stellantis in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As Managing Director of Fiat Professional, he shaped the LCV business in numerous European markets. Most recently, as Head of LCV & B2B at Stellantis, he helped build a leading market position for the Group in the Middle East and Africa region.
