New head at the BMW plant in Landshut: Stefan Kasperowski hands over to Thomas Thym

Thomas Thym succeeds Stefan Kasperowski as the new site manager on December 1. After almost four years at the Landshut site, Kasperowski will take over the production of high-voltage batteries in Dingolfing and Regensburg.

Thomas Thym began his career at the BMW Group in 1997 as a project manager in vehicle assembly at the Regensburg plant. This was followed by positions at the MINI plant in Oxford, UK, and at Group headquarters in Munich. In addition to assignments in India as Head of the International Purchasing Office, the Munich-born mechanical engineer was responsible for the strategic orientation of the BMW Group’s purchasing and supplier network. Since 2019, the 52-year-old Thym has been in charge of global purchasing and the supplier network for interior components as well as the production of interior components such as cockpits and door panels at the Landshut and Wackersdorf sites. “I am very much looking forward to the new task and to continuing the more than 50-year success story of the site together with the strong Landshut team,” says Thym: “It is also very important to me to represent the Landshut plant not only as the largest employer, but also as a reliable partner of the region with social responsibility.”
