Shared E-Fleet at eCarTec: Cloud Solutions for Corporate Electric Fleets

Since about 100,000 German companies operate corporate fleets and around 2 million company cars are newly registered every year, there is enormous potential for the breakthrough of electromobility in the business and government context. This is exactly where the Shared E-Fleet research project sets in: an innovative concept for the sharing of electric vehicles between multiple companies, for instance in technology parks, via a secure cloud computing solution.

At the eCarTec 2014 Munich – the leading international fair for electric mobility – Shared E-Fleet will be presented, together with four other projects of the program “ICT for Electric Mobility II” of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). In hall B4 on stand 409 the visitors can experience one of the project vehicles, the convenient booking process and the vehicle opening via app first hand.

Nominated for the eCarTec Award 2014

Shared E-Fleet is nominated for the eCarTec Award 2014 in the category “Sustainable Mobility Concepts”. At the award ceremony on October 21, 2014, at 6:00 p. m. on the grounds of the Messe München, the winners will be announced.

About the Project

In pilot tests in the technology parks Stuttgarter Engineering Park STEP and Münchner Technologiezentrum MTZ, as well as with the city of Magdeburg, it all revolves around the workability of Shared E-Fleet: Under real conditions, the use of a shared electric vehicle fleet, as well as the IT solutions developed in the project are tested.

The Shared E-Fleet project consortium consists of: Carano Software Solutions GmbH, Fraunhofer-Institut für Arbeitswirtschaft und Organisation IAO, baimos technologies gmbh, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München, Marquardt GmbH, MGH-Münchner Gewerbehof- und Technologiezentrumsgesellschaft mbH, Siemens AG, STEP Stuttgarter Engineering Park GmbH and TWT GmbH Science & Innovation.
