Showcar A290 “beta” world premiere: Alpine heralds electric sports car era

The countdown is on: On May 9, 2023, Alpine will unveil its new show car called A290_ß (A290 “beta”) in Bristol. Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi and Alpine Design Director Antony Villain are using the show car to provide a first concrete impression of the brand’s future urban sports car, which will be launched in 2024. As the first vehicle in the “Dream Garage,” the model embodies a new era for Alpine, one that is uncompromisingly electric and sporty.

New name in the brand’s traditional style

The A290_ß (pronounced “beta”) echoes the Alpine brand’s classic naming style with an A followed by three digits. The first number represents the size of the vehicle. The “90” represents the brand’s “life-style”-oriented, versatile sports cars, while the pure sports cars carry the “10.” The “ß” refers to the beta test used in the software world, the test version just before the final release.

Experience premiere live

From April 28 to 30, 2023, fans of the brand will have the opportunity to win a seat for the world premiere of the new Alpine show car. A Formula 1 Grand Prix and a World Endurance Championship race will take place simultaneously that weekend. Both the Alpine A523 at the Formula 1 race in Baku, Azerbaijan, and the A470 at the Spa Francorchamps 6 Hours feature a QR code that can be scanned. It is the key to the draw for the seats at the live premiere on May 9. The world premiere can be followed in a livestream from 22:30 (CET) at the following link: https://events.alpinecars.com/.
