Mercedes-Benz has received official approval for commercial use in Germany for the “automated valet parking” service, which has been developed together with the technology partner Bosch. The world’s first highly automated driverless parking function (SAE Level 4) will be available in Germany for certain S-Class and EQS variants featuring the INTELLIGENT PARK PILOT and will debut in the parking garage P6 at the Airport Stuttgart.
Mercedes-Benz and Bosch have reached an important milestone on the road to automated driving: the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) has granted approval for their fully automated parking system in the P6 multi-storey car park operated by APCOA at Stuttgart Airport. This makes it the first fully automated and driverless parking system in the world to be officially approved for series operation in accordance with SAE Level 41. The technological advancement of automated driving plays a key role in the mobility of the future.
