Electric mobility is booming, causing the demand for lithium batteries to rise rapidly. However, the production of the batteries is resource-intensive. KYBURZ has developed a novel battery recycling process that recovers over 90% of the raw materials used in the batteries’ production without the use of chemicals. The novel process enables the resource loop to be closed. This process is at the core of the whole life of a battery. After their first use in new vehicles, they are given a second life in factory-revised vehicles and a third in energy storage systems. It extends the life of the batteries many times over.
