The BMZ Group, which previously specialized in lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery production, has introduced the POWER2CAR wallbox solution, which gives electric car owners independence from the availability and pricing of public charging options. POWER2CAR is the perfect addition for smart living concepts in single and multi-family homes with photovoltaic systems. POWER2CAR is round, weighs just 3.2 kg (without cable) and, with a width and height of just over 38 cm and a depth of just over 18 cm, requires little space. The wallbox can be installed almost anywhere up to altitudes of 3000 m above sea level. It can also be used in areas with high humidity of up to 95%.
BMZ cites its desire to lower the barrier to entry for families into the energy and transport transition by providing perfectly matched components from a single source as the motivation for the addition to its product range. For example, POWER2CAR is ideally matched to the BMZ hybrid inverter POWER2GRID. With the additional use of the BMZ GridSwitch, POWER2CAR can also be used in “back-up operation” if the public power grid fails. POWER2CAR is also optimized for use in combination with the BMZ home storage systems POWER4HOME and HYPERION. The complete combination of photovoltaic system, inverter, wallbox, GridSwitch and home storage system enables ideal surplus distribution of the electricity generated by the photovoltaic system instead of feeding it into the public grid at unattractive conditions.
