eMove360° Europe 2020: Statement on COVID-19

  • Trade fair is scheduled to take place from October 20-22 on the grounds of Messe München

Munich, April 2020 – The eMove360° Europe 2020 – International Trade Fair for Mobility 4.0 – electric – connected – autonomous takes place from 20-22. October on the grounds of Messe München. Robert Metzger, Managing Director of MunichExpo and organizer of the leading international trade fair for new mobility, comments on the current restrictions due to the Corona virus and possible effects on the implementation of the trade fair this autumn:

“The measures to protect against the spread of the corona virus hit the trade fairs scheduled for spring very hard this year, as the numerous cancellations and postponements show. Even if the cancellation of many events has enormous economic consequences for the organizers, the protection of health is of course in the foreground. Nobody can currently reliably estimate when the restrictions will not apply anymore. However, we assume that the autumn trade fairs and thus also the eMove360° Europe 2020 can be carried out normally again. The demand for trade fair stands, which revived after a brief period of shock, suggests that the industry tends see it that way, too. However, if the worst case arises that the fair can no longer be held this year, we have found a regulation that protects our exhibitors from financial losses. Legally, in the event of force majeure – such as a cancellation due to a ban on events – all exhibitors would have to pay for their ordered stands and would have to bear the full loss. In this unlikely event, however, we will postpone this year’s fair to the scheduled date for the coming year (October 26-28, 2021). All stands booked for 2020, including participation fees, will then be transferred to the 2021 trade fair. In our view, this would be the best solution in the circumstances to do justice to all interests. However, we assume that the fair will take place in autumn 2020 as planned. Bookings for the eMove360° Europe 2020 are still possible.”
