Aachen, January 12, 2022 – Next.e.GO Mobile SE, the independent German manufacturer of innovative and sustainable urban electric vehicles, today announced that it enables its customers to trade emission certificates (THG quota). Together with its partner fairnergy, e.GO Mobile offers quick and easy sales processing of emissions certificates via the website and, shortly, via the e.GO Connect app. e.GO Life owners can currently earn at least 300 euros per year from the sale of their certificates. The proceeds are credited to the customers. In addition, e.GO, together with fairnergy, offers the opportunity to use this credit in whole or in part directly via the platform to support selected sustainable projects and thus make a real and lasting contribution to an emission-free energy transition.
Several guidelines and initiatives aim to achieve emission reduction goals across the continent by promoting cost-effective and economically efficient solutions. The EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) was the world’s first plant-related “cap-and-trade” system to reduce greenhouse gas (THG) emissions. The EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) was introduced to meet the THG reduction targets. The German legal framework for the national emissions trading system (nETS), which came into force in 2021, is intended to complement the EU emissions trading system and pave the way for the greenhouse gas reduction quotas (THG quotas) that are legally assigned to a purely battery-powered electric vehicle to be traded and sold.
In order to simplify the process and enable customers to benefit from the purchase and use of the e.GO Life – the company’s first purely battery-electric vehicle – e.GO Mobile has joined forces with fairnergy and is the first independent manufacturer of battery electric vehicles, which offers its customers in Germany an integrated, digital and seamless solution.
