With the new schenna e.motion – electric.experience.südtirol, the sunny village above Merano is taking big steps toward the future. From May 23 to 26, 2024, guests will experience and learn everything about sustainable electric mobility in South Tyrol during their tours. The event combines technology, enjoyment, and nature, and offers interested parties numerous behind-the-scenes insights into local hydroelectric power plants, for example. The highlight is the excursions in the guests’ own electric cars into the heart of the South Tyrolean mountains.
With 35 active hydroelectric power plants and a good 200 percent surplus of regional green electricity, South Tyrol is a pioneer in Italy when it comes to renewable energy sources. Accordingly, the region beyond the Brenner also offers the best conditions for sustainable transport alternatives. During the schenna e.motion, everything revolves around electromobility with one’s own car for four days. Participants will experience all kinds of highlights: For example, they learn tips and tricks for safety when using e-cars at the Saftey Day at the Pfatten Driving Safety Center. Equipped with their new knowledge, they then go on scenic drives through South Tyrol’s impressive nature – naturally in their own electric car. The route highlight leads up to the Stilfser Joch, at 2,757 meters the highest pass in the country and one of the most beautiful roads in Europe. Gourmets will be treated to culinary delights at the gala dinner with regional specialties at Schenna Castle. The final event will be the e.experience Days for visitors and locals to exchange their experiences with e-mobility. www.schenna.com
